In today's world, waiting is something we rarely tolerate. We live in an age of instant gratification, where everything from fast food to instant messaging is designed to minimize delays. We are a society accustomed to immediate results, and our patience for waiting is almost non-existent. Yet, when it comes to the promises of God, waiting is not a passive endeavor or wasted time. Often, if we become frustrated during the wait, we slip into inactivity, risking missing out on what God intends for us. When approached rightly, waiting becomes an active process that shapes our character and faith. So, how do we wait well for the fulfillment of God's promises? Acts 1:4-14 shows us that waiting on God's promise involves more than simply passing the time. It calls us to active prayer, to unity with fellow believers, and to a hope that equips us for His mission.
