The Promise That Prepares 10/28/25

Picture a moment of preparation for a significant life transition, such as a parent teaching their teenager to drive. There’s a mix of excitement and uncertainty, a sense of anticipation for what’s ahead, and the knowledge that things will never quite be the same. In much the same way, the disciples found themselves in a season of profound transition after Jesus’ resurrection. For forty days, Jesus spent time with His followers, proving He was truly alive and teaching them about the Kingdom of God. He prepared His followers for their mission by grounding them in the reality of His resurrection and the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Over the next six weeks, we will explore a sermon series on the Promise of the Father. In Luke 24:49, Jesus said, “And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” Jesus’ resurrection, ascension, and the gift of the Holy Spirit empower every believer to be His witness in daily life, as we await His glorious return. We celebrate Jesus as our Savior, the One whose resurrection assures our salvation and prepares us for a life filled with the Holy Spirit. Today, let’s open our hearts to what it means to be equipped and empowered by Him, ready to step into the mission He’s given us.
