The Gift of Reconciliation 2/1/26

Feb 1, 2026    Pastor Steve and Jen

In last week's message, "The Spectacle," we marveled at the healing of the man who had been disabled from birth at the gate called Beautiful (Acts 3:1-10). Through faith in the name of Jesus, Peter and John lifted him to his feet, and he entered the temple courts walking, leaping, and praising God. That miracle created an undeniable spectacle, drawing a crowd of astonished onlookers.

Today, we continue in Acts 3:11-26, where the healed man clings to Peter and John, and the amazed people run together to them. Peter seizes this moment to preach one of the most direct and compassionate gospel messages in the New Testament. He confronts sin, proclaims fulfilled promises, offers mercy, and calls for repentance and turning to God. In these verses, we discover the Gift of Reconciliation in three ways:

The gift of promises fulfilled in Jesus,

The gift of guilt that awakens our spirit and leads to repentance,

The gift of reconciliation that restores us to God.

The gift of reconciliation begins with believing in God's fulfilled promises, recognizing our guilt and need for repentance, and trusting in God's mercy.
