Acts 3:1-16 presents the account of Peter and John meeting a man who had been unable to walk since birth at the temple gate known as Beautiful. In this moment, a miraculous healing unfolds, not merely as an act of compassion but as a profound display of God’s power. This story reminds us that healing is one of the spectacles God uses to amplify His glory and draw hearts to surrender. In our world today, where physical and emotional pains abound, whether through illness, loss, or unanswered prayers, we often grapple with the mystery of healing. Some have witnessed God’s restorative touch, while others have endured deep disappointment, even questioning their faith when healing does not come. Yet this passage invites us to see healing not as an end in itself, but as a beacon pointing to the risen Jesus, who continues His work through His followers. Isaiah 53:4 tells us that Jesus bore our sorrow and infirmities on the cross, and James 5:14-15 encourages the sick to receive prayer for healing. We affirm that God still heals today. Healing shows His mercy in ways that can lead directly to someone’s salvation. This passage teaches us that healing is not just compassionate but also draws people to Jesus. Healing serves as a testament to salvation and calls us to extend grace beyond our church into daily life.  As we explore this text, may we open our hearts to the truth that God still moves in our midst, calling us to take part in His redemptive story and to extend His healing grace beyond the walls of our church into the brokenness of everyday life.
