Speaking Through the Spirit

We live in a generation where everyone has an opinion and something to say. We carefully craft our voice and give evidence to support it. We watch on social media, in politics, in our homes, and at our jobs, as people we love, and some people, we don’t like take a lie and wrap it up in a little truth. Enough truth that it is believable. Some people do this because they have bought into what they are saying, some are motivated by an agenda. Today, we will be reminded of what happened when Jesus chose to be led by the Spirit as He spoke the truth. Jesus’ loud invitation during that ceremony provoked debate, not ridicule. Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ (vs.38). He goes on to explain that this is the Holy Spirit, and at this moment, He modeled speaking through the Spirit, and as a result, even though a disruption broke out, Jesus was unharmed.
